Ingredients:
- 3/4 cup water
- 1/2 cup sugar (granulated)
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Optional: 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Instructions:
- Bring water to boil.
- Mix cornstarch and sugar with whisk or fork.
- Add sugar mixture to boiling water and reduce heat to medium
- Stir constantly until mixture starts to thicken
- Whisk the cream into the sauce mixture
- Remove from heat and whisk in the butter and vanilla
